I believe that Hegseth, Gabbard and Walz should go PERIOD. Not only because of their incompetence but also because of their laissez fair attitude toward national security. What hasn’t been mentioned here, but is of equal or greater concern is the lack of a paper trail of any conversation that should be recorded and given to the National Archives for record keeping. Signal messages literally disappear. There could hundreds if not thousands of messages not recorded and will never be known some of which could be with foreign actors to enrich anyone in the Trump administration. This is all so bad! There should be a wider investigation of security breaches and impeachment, dismissal or jail time for this.

I’ve considered all of these points, and seen varied concerns like this all over social media. None strung together cohesively like this, though. I feel your concern. I wonder too: Is there anything going on in the Pentagon - and White House - that hostile actors do not know?

I believe these statements as truth, and as such, I'm curious why no one in the administration or watchdog groups haven't launched investigations if it's so blatantly obvious to the common man that it's against the protocol for security in each of these Depts....?? Have you, as a citizen and man of knowledge in this area, contacted any Congressional or Senatorial members to ask why there is no action in this area?? I'm curious because you obviously have the facts. Please respond as I'm sure everyone is as curious as I am. Thanks for the piece!

It all started at Motel a Largo with stolen documents left lying around in a bathroom and other places. Trump doesn't take security seriously unless of course it's leakers, then he has a fit. What's Pete Keg-stand's take on this? The same thing, leakers who have revealed his misdeeds. This is a huge issue and will likely get bigger and cost us a lot over a wide array of agencies that keep us safe. Hang on.

“Alarmingly, there has been little follow-up from mainstream U.S. media, and no formal public accounting of how these passwords and accounts appeared online or what actions — if any — have been taken to mitigate the risks.”

Therein lies the rub! We have a bunch of unqualified, white nationalist affirmative action hires, with little regard for the truth, let alone national security concerns, running the show!

The Pentagon’s Inspector General (Steven Stebbins), is responsible for the investigation, but any criminal complaint would be led by Bondi and Patel, so good luck with that!

And let’s face it, national security isn’t exactly a major concern or priority for this administration.

That said, a fish rots from the head down, so considering Trump’s careless and illegal use and storage of top secret/sci and Special Access Program material and documents in the past, for which he should be ROTTING in jail; I would suspect that any meaningful investigation or prosecution will be undermined, and eventually proven fruitless.

Ironically, Trump continues to blame Biden for his mishandling of top secret-SCI documents, but it actually was the National Archives that requested an investigation into Trump for refusing to give the documents back. So in the end, it was a bunch of Librarians with top secret clearances at the National Archives, and Trump’s own sense of entitlement that should have led to his downfall. Yet, here we are!…..:)

It makes me wonder if the information found online by Der Spiegel might have been on the Dark Web as well. Stealing of personal information is a massive issue that unfortunately affects people from all demographics, but especially anyone involved with government, military and intelligence. Information on the Dark Web is often for sale, and those committing theft of information are protected by anonymity.

trump knows his choices for cabinet secretaries are failing but will never admit that or allow the true extent of these failures to be investigated or prosecuted as they should be. To him his image is more important than national security. Congress do your job.

The Eastern Potentate versus the Ringling Brothers. I fear this will not end until western democracy is completely disassembled and falls into a feudal morass. That is when things become highly ubstable.
