It's Time to Take a Deeper Look at Some Things

How This Substack Was Born

I’m a former CIA officer; longtime criminal defense and civil rights investigator, author, film-maker, and political blogger. I”m motivated to start this substack because, as I write this, we’re less than three months from an election that looks mroe consequential than any other. It will either be a re-set to political normalcy or a descent into a fever swamp from which there may be no escape.

Others can track the “horse race” of the election. Where I feel I can help is in the area of tracking, analyzing, and preparing for the challenges to the outcome that are inevitable — and which I fear will lead to a chaotic aftermath to the election. I bring an intelligence officer and investigators fact-finding orientation to the task of identifying the threat, investigating it, making a clear report of my findings, and exploring ways to counteract what I believe will be a conceted attempt to thwart the will of the people. My focus will be on taking a “Deeper Look” first of all at the vote-counting and vote-certification process and apparatus in swing states. Later I’ll move into other areas, always with an investigator and intelligence officer’s mindset, taking a “deeper look” at things that matter to me. I hope you’ll join me but even if you don’t, this is something I have to do. There is a threat and I will do my part to protect the institutions that are uniquely at risk in 2024.
