Secret Service confirms "protective incident"; sources say an AK-47 has been recovered and possible vehicle have been identified.

The Secret Service confirms a “protective incident” involving former President Trump. The Trump campaign said Trump is “safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time.” The statement came from campaign spokesman Steven Cheung in a statement.

President Biden and Vice President Harris have been notified and have offered statements.

Little is known for sure except that former president was playing golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. The course was immediately locked down, according to a source familiar.

The Secret Service announced that it is working with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a protective incident involving Trump. The Secret Service said the incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m.

Sources say that Trump was playing golf when shots were fired and the Secret Service returned fire. An individual was seen fleeing. There is also reporting that there is a car involved. There is also reporting that an AK-47 rifle was found, with a backpack, and a go-pro camera.
